The 60s were a golden period for muscle cars. Ford was a major player in this market. For most of the decade, the Ford Mustang reigned supreme and the 1968 Cobra Jet was the best-selling model of all time. It boasted a staggering 445 pound-foot torque and 335 horsepower. Chevrolet built some of its most recognizable muscle cars, including the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, but only a few were made. This muscle car was created by Dick Harrell, and only a few were made.

How to be an Automotive Technician

An automotive technician performs repairs and maintains vehicles. He/she is employed at automobile dealerships, garages, service centres, and auto shops. He/she repairs cars, trucks, motorbikes and snowmobiles for customers. An automotive technician must be capable of diagnosing problems and making repairs safely, accurately and efficiently.

If you want to be an automotive technician, you need an associate degree from vocational school. After completing this program, he/she must pass the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification exam. ASE stands for American Society of Mechanical Engineers. There are two sections to the ASE certification test. The first section tests your mechanical skills, while the second tests your practical knowledge. You must attend one of the authorized testing sites to take the test. These locations can be found online, or by contacting your local car dealer.

After passing the test, a candidate must pass an examination in order to be licensed as an automotive technician. This process can vary depending on where the applicant lives. Some states require candidates to complete a training program, while others let them study on their own. Some states issue licenses to technicians as soon as they get their license. Others wait until they have worked at least six months as an automotive technician.

A person must apply to an auto dealership in order to get started as an automobile technician. New employees are usually apprentices when they first get hired. Apprenticeships last for three years. This is when a student can learn how to do basic repairs such as changing oil, adjusting brakes and replacing tires.
